Articles

This article is adapted from the original psmonopoly.com site, outlining where you can play Monopoly today. I will update this information from time to time. I've added links for each of these sites on the Weblinks section. You may find others there as well.

RealArcade GamePass

RealArcade GamePass hosts US and International multi-player Monopoly games with several versions of Monopoly. They will provide you a free copy of the Monopoly version of your choice when you sign up for a free 30-day trial of the service. To take advantage of this offer, click one of these links:

To sign up with one of the international realArcade GamePass services use these links: UK, International English, Deutsch, Français, España, Nederland, and Latina / América / Hispano.

Yahoo! Games

Yahoo! Games offers a service similar to GamePass. For more information regarding Monopoly at Yahoo! Games use one of the following links:

Opensource Monopoly Servers

The open source community has created a few Monopoly servers, including "monopd" and "Kapitalist". The software to run or play on one of these servers is free (Open Source Licensing), so either use one of the servers out there, or host your own.

There are a few monopd servers alive (e.g., solarium.devnullteam.org) and ready for play. To use a monopd server, you must install a monopd client on your machine. There are several clients available "Atlantik", available for Linux only, and "gtkAtlantic" available on Linux and Windows, and others. There are also other clients under development, including a Java, web-based client, that psmonopoly would be glad to host for the playing community. There are links for these servers and clients in our Weblinks section, and further information on how to play in another article on this site.

Gamespy.com

You can play any CD Version of Monopoly at Gamespy.com. Gamespy Arcade offers lobbies and player matching for a variety of games, including two Monopoly lobbies one for version 1, the other hosting version 2 & 3. There, you can chat, find other players, and a host of other features. The site is free, however there is advertising to support the site. You can subscribe to the site (subscriptions range from $5/month to $80/year), to receive additional features. I believe that subscribers can also eliminate advertising. There are Monopoly leagues playing on Gamespy as well.

Casesladder On-Line

Casesladder On-line supports Monopoly (version 1) CD only. You need to be a member of the free league. You'll have to create an account (for free), log on, go into "Categories", then "Chat" under community, to find the Monopoly lobby. The league here is pretty busy at most hours.

IRCopoly

IRCopoly is an IRC based monopoly type game. It will use mozbot for game play via irc, and a combination of mozbot and php for web based game play. It is in early development, and the alpha is hosted at irc.freenode.net #ircopoly. Visit the site at ircopoly.com for more information.
